Robins, to me, are a harbinger of spring. As Winter winds down and the snow is not quite so white, I begin to watch for this cheerful little bird as it tells me hang on, Spring is on the way. She is protecting her clutch of 3 eggs, Robin blue of course. As a mother they are tireless workers and fierce protectors of their young.
