Soft sculptures are considered collectibles and not toys. They are sturdy but will not hold up to small children. An older child who can appreciate a collection would do well with the sculptures. They can be handled, but keep in mind you can not put them in the washer so you need to keep them clean. I work in a smoke free environment so the only scent they carry is that of the sweet, cleaned wool fleece.
As with all art, they are mainly created for the adult collector and nature lover. Many are representations of wildlife. It would be wise to keep them away from pets as they hold a special fascination coming from an animal. I have seen some destroyed beyond repair so its wise to keep them seperate from the family pet.
